User-Contributed Transcription though he has not written very particularly about it. I hope that he is before this time at Bangor, though I have not heard from him for a week or two. Am quite anxious to do so. About my being at Westfield to home to with you next July is extremely uncertain in spite of temptations you hold out before me. It is now quite possible that I shall go East next Month, sometime in May, probably before the Middle at least. If I have the chance then fairly, it would hardly do to wait and run the great risk of getting away later. It would certainly be extremely pleasant if we could go home together. It may be possible yet, and I will write as soon and as fast as I can tell about the Matter. You give a fine description of Miss Woodbury She must be quite an agreeable lady I think. How old is she? Is she Engaged? Is she really very homely? You know my expressed determination if I do ever get East again not to come back here without bringing a wife, if I can find any New England girl who will come with me! You spoke of Fun & humor as a recommendation. Certainly, one of the greatest possible for anyone, Especially if its exercise be mainly upon things not persons. It if fall into satire upon mankind or upon human nature it is dangerous and to be avoided. But there is perhaps no more beautiful expression of a really good heart.
