User-Contributed Transcription It seems that Almeda has really got started to spend the winter in Mass. Do you know where she is going to be? Is she going to Royalston & Warwick, or among the Searles'; or is she going all round the lot? And little Jamie stays behind. I wonder if the little fellow was contented to be left. By the way I judge that he is rather a good little boy, is he not? Where should I direct a letter to Almeda?  She ought to write to me.  Will it not be considerable trouble to Charles to take care of her things? tend "critters" in both barns, I suppose, must he not? It will take all his time this winter to 'do the chores,' without any teaming; that is, if he has no boy. Most I am afraid of is that he will not get time to be married! What think you of it!
What induced W. Brown & Son to move across the stream? I should think it inconvenient to be so far off. I believe W. Brown owns his dwelling, so he will not move that. I guess you will move back next year. Do you have to go away over there to open the store all these cold mornings, and back again before breakfast? or do you get yr breakfast first? I would, I think.
I should not think your Brown's house was not big enough for so large a party as 420 invitations. guess it was lucky it was a rainy evening. I was at a much bigger one in a biggest house 'tother night! That same rainy Thursday night, didn't I have a great ride home in the rain from somewhere? Eh!
