User-Contributed Transcription There are now plenty of snow drifts 2 or 3 feet deep in the roads, and fence corners; but the farmers are busy at work hauling manure some on dry roads, or in the mornings while it is frozen, and on their dry lands ploughing & sowing as rapidly as possible - even before the frost is all out. Now some of your land - the river side of the Intervale, and part of that West Knoll is dry [[?]] enough to work just as soon as the snow is off of it; though you often wait a month for it to dry before you begin [[C. Ch.?]] to work much.
I suppose you do not have much hay to spare this spring, keeping all your horses, and the winter has been unusually hard for hay. Does your mare have a colt?
How do your Nursery apple trees bear the winter? Do you have them grafted this spring? Try do do it in season.
Love to all the children.
Hope you will write to us often.
Sincerely
Isaac I. M.
Love from Nettie - she wants to see you ever so much - If we were only a little nearer, I know you would come & see us
