User-Contributed Transcription We do not have to study so hard now as sometimes in the former part of the course, but it is more important to be here, on account of the lectures, which one cannot well get any where else, if one wishes to keep along with his class, he might about as well lose the term, as a single week of it.
So, I suppose, if I stay in College the rest of my course, I must, or had better at least, keep close to it, the little while longer I have.

As for that taxing affair, I really cannot help thinking it rather a dirty business in the selectmen of your town of Milo. In the first place, as a general thing students are not taxed at all, even where they have a regular residence. Then it is very different with me from what it would be in case of a young man who has a father living, is supplied with his funds &c. &c. from a home. Moreover, I have been in Milo just about
