This was a little too much.  In fact on reflection, most of them saw their ridiculousness in taking the matter away from there to whom it belonged so completely, & felt a good deal ashamed of it.  So when the matter came up in S.S. today, Mr Brooks suggested they should appoint a committee not interested in any of the Mission Schools who might want the Books, and so they quickly nominated a Com. of the Opp. Mrs Cole & Mrs Darling.    Letter from Eliab last night.
