User-Contributed Transcription got too much of his father about him to excel in it quite as much as his mother. It is a little curious though hardly to be wondered at I suppose that he should reply, when asked "who was the meekest," in sounds much more rambling "Mama" than "Moses"!Charles has not yet started will probably go this week sometime--he did almost start last week but I persuaded him to stay. Les Confidences de Alph. Lamartine is not much good, is it? You do not ought to do so much work and get so tired either of you. And to prove it to you got a bad cold, and were about sick--there is nothing like getting tired to give one a bad cold. And poor little Mayo too with a bad cold--I suppose by running about on the wet floors when you were washing. Can yo not get somebody else to wash for you. And how did you get along as Editress of the Paper with such a bad cold and half sick? I shall be home petty soon to take care of you you will find--possibly (not probably) by Christmas. Do take care of yourself--will you not my dearest? I believe I have sent you three X or lately, I will put another in this letter I guess--make XXXX No late letters from Bangor, Charles got a bit of one from Anne--and two from Milo yesterday. But do not stop writing to me as Albina did to Charles!  Kisses to Mayo, and love to all--but especially to mine Ettie,Most Sincerely I.S. Metcalf
