User-Contributed Transcription I feel rather ashamed of my last letter and also of this, complaining so much etc. I can get along very well now this long time.I dont know as I ever shall want any more Shirts, fixed so cute too! I can get along about Boot or shoes pretty well for some time yet, only I dont know but Joseph will need that great thick Comforter I shall, if he was a going to stay at Milo. A little long one to keep on my neck all the time would be good for it.[right-hand side]it is rather a pity to wear my High boots all out before winter comes. The Suspenders was in great want. Also the Gloves etc. More so.                                                                                                 Isaac Bangor                                                                                                          October 19, 1839                                                                                                                                                        Mrs. A.M. Metcalf                                                                                                                                care of                                                                              Mr. Charles W. Rich                                                                                               Milo[ bottom of page, upside down]Thurs. Morn. Since writing the last I have been down town to see Mr. Welch and happened to see I. Stubbs, who gave me a bundle from you. You may guess how soon I got home and opened it.Did you take off the Wheel band to turn roundAbout Joseph bill was only some of my fun about his foolishness [struck out] It was only some of Joseph's silliness when I was at Milo, that I put in to fill it the letter. I am afraid you were more scared than I was hurt. I guess I shall get along pretty well after a fashion.
