User-Contributed Transcription Foxcroft June 21 1844DearI do not know as I have much of any thing to write just now, certainly not of importance. I like to write letters home as well as think of home, even if I do not very often hear from these. Things get along about as usual, and I have just got fairly settled down to my studies again, after my weeks absence, some called it running away here. Four new scholars entered the school while I was gone, Anna Hutchins of Industry, who was here last fall; and there young men from Charleston, who left here for some reason suddenly, right in the middle of the term. They were, I should think their three best scholars there, nearly fitted for College, I think of going to Brunswick this fall. I guess they are really first rate fellows & good scholars. Isaac W. Case, Dr Case's son of Levant, James K. Bartlett of Harmony and Smart who was in Milo a year ago. B.B Sinart, I believe. If I go to Brunswick they will be my companions these three years, probably. The school now numbers 42 in all! Mr. Task did not know but he would have to set me to work again, he said, but I guess he will get along as some are leaving occasionally.Nancy Carpenter has left. Trafton & Owens, Philbrick was gone last week, Delegate to the great Whig State Convention!
