Saturday. (Milo.) Fair.
so wet - in AM we could not walk out till the sun was too hot for comfort.
Rev Rider & wife arrived about ten - He & James went to Dover - home at five - nice visit from Almeda.
I [[?]] - finished Isaac's blue cotton stockings
After Mayo slept, Mallin & I walked a little way - to bed early - Musquitos troublesome.
So long to wait for a letter from Isaac - a whole week today.

10 30 P.M. Started from Chicago slept some
2 - A.M. Mendota
6 - A.M. Wapella
From Wapella Given Conductor Dunham, Baggage Man
2 P.M. Centralia
J.L. Post on his Division about Vandalia
P. Nellis Station Agent at Vandalia, lives in the Station House. Post has bought a house.
Watson, Pease &c. at Centralia
J.C. Smith at Centralia - went south and stopped at Duqoin with me
4 P.M. DuQuoin
Boarding House, now kept by a [[?]]. tolerable
slept in Mitchell's bed at the Station House
Mr Keyes inhabits the South end with his family
The Mitchells & old Mr Carlyle lumber dealer and John Gearing inhabit the North End.
Mitchell is down at the River
Young Mitchell helping My Keyes, and is to be Station Agent at DuQuoin soon.
