This is at "Dennett's Cove." Here, on the Depot Grounds in the deep excavation under old burying ground Hill has lately been found remains of some huge Saurian or cetacian, a number of vertebrae &c. They are found in a peculiar clay perfectly black when first opened, but turning clay color
This Clay has a strong smell of dock mud.
Some of these remains have been sent to Prof. Agazzis
