With Mr. Field over the river, throughout Griffins & Hinin & Flynn's work. Setting grades making estimates &c. Dined at Griffin's - Irish & squalling babies but fair. griffin has had no trouble with drinking men. He has threatened to shoot whoever brings spirit on his work.
Evening, office. Rainy night.

Dec. 10th Friday Windy, Warm, Cloudy, Rain.
Office. Down to the Smith's to correct land bounds. Plans of Smith's & Walter Field's land. My survey. Young, and Johnson arrived. Leonard, Carpenter &c. Evening heavy rain. Stage arrived at 10 P.M. President's Message

Dec. 11th Saturday Rain Clear off warm
Office. Johnson was here, and kept every one at work upon Bridge plans &c. Leonard here.
P.M. Humphrey Stevens came in, Came from Warwick yesterday with Maria. Evening Humphrey & Parsons in. I shall have to go there tomorrow.
