Last eve had quite a time. Got 1/2 bu. of Walnuts, with Mr Crossman cracked half a peck or so & carried into the Ladies &c.
Rev. Willard Jones A.M. "Jonadab sone of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever." Bilial obedience. a good sermon, on a good subject, and pretty well enforced.
P.M. A sermon to Mothers specially, for forming a Maternal Association. A very good discourse, but I was somewhat sleepy
Eve. Called at Parsons & Steven's. Parsons got considerably tired, by his yesterdays walk. Joseph's babe is still unwell.

A.M. Waiting in office for Orcutt down to Grant's for Level
11 1/2 over the river. Culvert sta 537. Grades on embankment on Section 46. Charlie Short going about Cul. 537.
Smith after two three day's absence returned last evening this morning went back to Brattleboro
Eve. Concert, vocal music by the Peak Family. Some good
Unitarian Church very well filled, every body seemed there
Little girl six years old sung little songs. Julia older pretty well.
G.M. Smith returned & at Concert.
