As usual &c. Wood &c. H[[?]]d Virgil - Scientific C. Book
Noon, A lot of wood came. A load of hard wood or 2 of soft, I believe, by Mr. Davis. Piling it up &c. till past 2 As usual.
Eve. Spelling lesson for morrow, Com. De[[?]]

Wed. Nov. 13th
Fair - Clouds, Rose at 6
Last night or rather this morning was the time for the Grand Meteoric Shower. James and I concluded to see it if it was to be seen, so I set up till about 12 1/2 oclock, and I kept watch the rest of the night, sleeping some and watching some But no Meteors or any thing of the kind appeared! to us!
Sawed wood, much, Mr. Walker split and piled up, Wood till 8 1/4 from breakfast. Then down town and gave a letter to Wm. Porter, to carry to Milo. School &c. as usual. Declamation - I spoke "the rich man and the poor man, scene from "[[?]]" spoken by I.R.G., H.S. and C. Hayes
Spelling &c. as usual. I had not time to parse. too busy
P.M. Virgil. Sawed wood some. fixed straps to pants
Sponge my frock coat to get off some of the dirt &c.
Chores, Wood &c.
Eve. Finished Virgil lesson &c. Sleep

Thurs. 14th
Cloudy rainy Rose at 5 1/2
As usual, Chores, Wood &c. cut a lot of wood Mr. W. help
rainy, cloudy and so dark that School left off at 4 1/4. Wood. Chores etc.
Eve. reading, looking over Composition &c. &c. Writing some
9 1/2 or 10 James was reading one of Miss Edgeworths novels and got to reading loud, I got to hearig after a while and he read on I learnd till 11 or so. Manoevering was the tale - good
A Mr. Hon[[?]]d was married publicly to a Miss Hudson this eve at the Episcopal church. James went up house full
Serenaded in the night with Sleighbell and tim[[?]]
