Eve. Service Newcombe solo. Currier. Text Jo. 14.1 "Let not your heart be troubled: (1) believe in God (2) believe also in me." (1) in God. not an intellectual belief but trust in God as our father. Many have a secret unrecognized unbelief. The Psalms full of genuine trust in God. stories? to faith. Ps. 20. 23. 91. according as we believe in this care of God as a father will be our peace. "Thou wilt keep etc" (2) also in me. (a) only by faith in X is faith in God perfected + sustained. Light is a symbol of God. but light must have a medium. That is a symbol of God. That must be expressed by a word. X is the word. (b) faith in X changes our relation w God enemies. - reconciled. guilt - forgiveness sin - redemption. (c) only faith in X realize Power of Holy Spirit "thee that believe in me the works that I do etc." Only by faith in God can you have a tranquil heart If you would have a sustaining faith in God you must believe in X.
