User-Contributed Transcription time, for a day or two, he has been more wandering than ever. He has been bereft of reason, a great part of the time, in this respect, last week. It seems very strange that he should lie in this state so long. How glad I am that I can be at home after this week. It is hard to think of going away this morning. When Mr. Steele was negotiating with you for your services, he incidentally mentioned to father, that he was embarrassed by the restrictions of the Directors, who had limited the salary to be allowed, to a less sum than you thought suitable. Father feels a little curiosity to know how you adjusted the matter, and would like to have me ask you to mention in your next, if you have no objection. Father and mother send love. Brother H. has spoken of you a number of time since you were here. He says "nobody ever kept the flies away so well." But I must close this rambling letter, from your Antoinette[upside down at top]Sunapee, N.H. via Newport & Newbury Aug. 23, 1850[upside down at bottom] Antoinette Dunbarton N.H. Aug. 17 - 1850
