User-Contributed Transcription Nettie ElyriaSept 1, 1859Elyria, Thursday, Sept 1, 1859My own dearest, -I rose this morning thinking I would sit me down at once and write to you, but the children and there after breakfast, some pears to look after, pickles &c, and the garden, little jobs of mending & various interruptions delayed me, and now it is two oclock P.M. Last evening about half past Eight the Dr. came up, so kindly, and brought me a letter from you mailed the 24th, and one from Dunbarton mailed the 29th at Concord, whither George, Jenny and Herbert had gone for pleasure, I suppose; may be shopping.The Dr. had no letter and has had none, except the one written from Montreal. I do not think either...hemorrhage of the lungs while she was gone. Looks pale & thin now - has slight cough.Your Nettie
