User-Contributed Transcription Apr. 20 '51A.B.P. to I.S.M. Home, April 20 1851.Dunbarton. My dear friend,- The labors of the day are completed, I believe, and, with great pleasure, I commence answering your kind letter, received yesterday. I have been baking and ironing and sewing, and doing a little of almost every thing, during the day, and this evening, for an hour. I have read aloud to my father and mother, as is my practise generally, though father does not always leave his study to listen. It is raining very fast to night = we have had considerable rain during the month, and it has improved the grass and trees wonderfully. The season seems quite early with us - very much in advance of last year. We have had flowers for six weeks. A vase of hay-flowers is by my side while I write, filling the air with perfume and looking so cheerful - the dear little creatures - how I do love them. I think I'll separate one little darling from the group, and send it to you, with one or two others I have just been pressing. They have all grown this very Spring. I was quite as much surprised to observe the [left-hand side] Father and Mother send much love. A.
