User-Contributed Transcription about three weeks. She endured the journey & the visiting very well, and thinks she has gained some strength. The riding has fatigued her so she does not feel very bright this evening. She says she is glad to get home, and we are all most certainly glad to have her. I only wish you were here too, to help us be happy. How I should enjoy it! Mother has talked to us, as much as she was able, about the friends she has seen, and little incidents of her journey; and we have told her as much as we could what we have been doing at home, and what has occurred during her absence. And then I have been singing for father and mother some of their favorite hymn and chants, and now it is past nine o'clock, and I am left all alone. This is the time when I write most of my letters - after nine in the evening. A letter from George came to day. His term is now through, but he is spending vacation at Meriden, and employing the time in studying music. He is at the same Academy father attended when fitting for College, and I was thinking a few days since, how very differently they were situated. Father decided to commence studying, left the trade he was
