User-Contributed Transcription snow, for this has been a long and cold winter. I heard it remarked yesterday, that there have been 32 snow storms since October. That seems to be a sufficient number.Last evening the "Reading Circle" met. We have not yet finished "Napoleon". We are reading now the Syrian Expedition. When we commenced the meetings of the circle, everybody expected it would be short lived. Just as every undertaking has almost invariably proved to be here but, strange to say, we have not failed a full attendance, two evenings in every week during the whole time, and there seems an unabated interest.I have been reading at home, "The Works of Hannah More", and also Longfellow's Poems and now father has purchased for us "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by H. B. Stowe. It will not take us long to complete this, for it is so interesting that when once commenced, it will be hard to leave it. I am now reading a very valuable work, which I presume you may have seen, illustrating Christian doctrine, and the difference between true and false religion, and answering the cavillers objections. It is "Pilgrims Progress
