The afternoon sermon I thought was excellent and appropriate to the time. Subject: a Christian patriot's duty to his country. Serving his country now, he thought was serving his God. Text "Render unto Caesar" etc. George was not satisfied with the text, thought his sermon did not really and naturally flow from it, but could not find any more appropriate.Monday I had another nice ride and early in the morning Dr. Burbank made a long call and left us an invitation to spend Wednesday afternoon there. Father and all of us are going. He is a grand old man. His daughter called in the evening. She was on her way to a grand festival of the Good Templars. It was just across Cousins river and Royal river
