User-Contributed Transcription Dearest page tornMost Affectionately Isaac{Evening}Isaac has been in the office all day long with some dozen men settling accounts and paying away monies and he is completely weeried out and says he has no brains left so I do not see but he must be excused from writing. I shall feel sadly to have him out here alone. I am so fearful lest he should exert himself too much in the warm days and become sick, but I hope he will be careful - he says he mean to be so. Mr. Roots of Mt. Hawkins, where Isaac first boarded has been in to day - came to bring Isaac the month's stock of money. He sat in our room some time. Says I must be sure to get very well indeed before I go back East and not carry any Evil report of a good country. His family are quite healthy here Bindie Mayo has gone to sleep. He usually sleep finely all night and sometimes till quite late in the morning, bu he does not sleep much in the day. I am trying to sew some again now, but I dare not attempt much lest I make myself sick again. It is hard to get any help about sewing here - indeed it is next to impossible. I shall only do what
