User-Contributed Transcription I am fearful I have not sought help of my Savior as much as I ought in these attempts & if I do for once gain an advantage over these wrong emotions I am apt to give myself the glory of it. O for aid from above, make me, O my Father, more like my Savior. "Jesus be thou my pattern." I do think I desire to be wholly thine - to give thee all. Help me to live as though I wished to be thine entirely.Jan. 1, 1850 The new year has come. I know that time is bringing me rapidly on towards eternity. O that I could feel it more - Eternity - what a world of meaning in the word - how startling is the thought that I have commenced a life which can never end. O my Savior help me by thy mighty power to live not for this world but for Heaven. I feel I am sinful and unworthy but thou are pure and holy - thy merits "will atone for me," and thine alone. Help me to serve thee with more zeal than ever, What have I ever done for thee.Jan. 7. The first Monday in 1850. we had a meeting in the vestry all day as we are accustomed on the first Monday of the year. In the forenoon were the anniversaries of the various benevolent societies. In the afternoon we had one of the best meetings
