User-Contributed Transcription Mr. Porter of Du Page preached from Eph. 3-15. The whole family in heaven - Subj. The nature of the fellowship of Christians in Heaven. Afternoon. from Rome 4-13. ______________________________July 10. 1848. This evening I find myself after more than a years absence, once again at my own dear home. Find my mother's health more feeble than I had expected, but she thinks she is gaining. How thankful should I be to that Good God who has been my guide & guard and has brought me safely home, and prolonged the life of my dear parents , brother & sister, and permitted us to meet this happily after a long separation. O may I show my gratitude by striving more than ever to be useful.July 11. This morning, dear mother went to ride and came back with both bones of the right leg broken! How unexpected! How little we know what is to be our lot - weeks and perhaps months of painful confinement are before her.Dear father is absent and possibly will not be back for three weeks unless the state of mother's health requires his return - mother does not wish us to send for him.O my Heavenly Parent - aid me in every duty.
