User-Contributed Transcription My Dear Son have had a very great and good feast Saturdayeve in shape of letters from Isaac & you.In regard to stockings & gloves I'm sorry I troubled you, with 'emyou've got so many already - don't bother yourself with em send'em back when you have a chance - The shirts we had better havesent to Iron Work perhaps - but no matter - I wish you'd tellonce in a while how you are getting along in your affairs and how you enjoy your mind in your multiplicityof business - And Eliab what a very great addition itwould be to my happiness if he would write frequentlysuch letters as Isaac does he writes just as if he was willingI should know just what he is about, his condition, thoughtsand feelings - We had a letter from Eliab last weekwith a valuable "lining" for which we feel very gratefulshall let L take it I guess - I mean and want to return it tohim again but really I don't see how I am going to get a cent todo it with this sever years but there is no knowing what may happenwe have said never a word any of us since you were here about anysettlement I don't know as there will ever be any but perhaps itis no matter. I shall have what I need doubtless some way or other Tis but little here below nor long, in regard to Ann's plan itseems as if it would be very pleasant to you all to have a homethere - if Mr F takes L to Hamden perhaps A will think nomore of her "plan" - But tho I am well enough off and contentedas I am - I am willing to go in with A & Almeda too perhaps & do any thing I could little tho' it may be - If and provided you all think it bestthe greatest obstacle in the way of some such maneuver would be pride and extravagance but I knownothing about it - The pants we have made & if we can dothem to suit would be glad to make as many more as you wish us to A. is smart and wants to do anything to get out of debt
