User-Contributed Transcription She does most of her cooking herself i.e. she attends to & directs it all & labors vigorously about cakes & pies etc. Besides which she is giving lessons in French to Miss Woodbury & Hattie. Mrs. Woodbury has been here you know since last August she has lately commenced a school one of the public schools and boards here. She has rather an uncouth figure short & thick but a person of a fine mind very pleasant & agreeable. Hattie attend the high school She has improv'd very much since I saw her. There are some things disagreeable in her manners now but I think she will make eventually a very fine character. The Doctor seems to be as happy as a man need wish to be. Libby is a little laughing frolicsome affectionate girl but greatly afflicted with weak eyes has been kept from school more than a year because of her eyes
