User-Contributed Transcription 19th Feb Saturday night 10 o' clockEver Dear son Eliab Have made one pair of your shirts thecoarse ones we have been rather busy this week but wantedto, and did finish one for because of such a good opportunityto send em - your thread was hardly good enough & notenough of it but it is just as well as we had enough.Lucy is the girl to make bosoms & collars I wish you wouldlook at Josephs and just see how nice they are.Any time when you or Joseph want shirts (not if they havelinen Bosoms tho') I should esteem it a privilege to make them.In regard to settlement that Joseph said something aboutwhat can I say or do - hadn't I better let it all go I doubt notthat C. would willingly supply me with whatever he thinks.I need as long as I live if he has the means of doing it even ifit should take a much greater amount of property than belongsto me. He may not always, feel so but I guess he would.Perhaps I had better leave it all with him - Trusting -He is in the hands of an overruling God.If I should live to see the time when I cannot labor I mightfeel more dependant than would be agreeable to such a proudspirit as mine - but if it is best I think I can bring myselfto it - We have said almost nothing about it since last July andhave hardly thought it (I don't love to think of it) but as I am upon itI'll answer Josephs question as far as I can - The title is rested inme without any mortgage or draw back, is legally perfected by registry.I have an impression that the note was for 12 hundred dollarsand that it was given 10 or more years since but I have notseen it since nor said anything about it or known whereit is - it was witness'd I think by Henry B Sargent. It isn't best to think it a matter of any consequence for you all knowthat I cannot be willing to have anything like grand or hardthoughtsWill you take an early opp to return this as I wish to reply to it now while flush of leisure & short of cash.
