User-Contributed Transcription written - In his book, Much Ado About Me, underlined Fred Allen tells how one of the Shuberts (referred to in the trade as "S-H-and "IT") used to go to Europe to steal ideas and jokes each year, mainly from England. England has a number of comedians who seem to prefer their home country, though salaries are low by comparison with U.S.A. - such comics as Frankie Howerd underlined (sic) and Charlie Drake, to name a few. My son & family saw the Black & White revue, still running after all these years. Would that commercial TV would perish. P.S. underlined I used your book, The Filmgoer's Companion underlined, to get the name of one film Dora Bryan was in. Real name Dora Broadbent.
