My Dear May:
The word of your Mother's recent passing on, came Saturday, from Metamora, Ills. I felt she was so ill, she could not live long, and continue to suffer so terribly. I am very sorry for you, and your brothers, and please accept my sincerest sympathy, in your loss, but for her, I cannot but be glad, she is free. She was remarkable person, and lived a very long and useful life. You all, will miss her very much, I shall think of you, often, in your loneliness.
