"Drawn & published by R.W. Chandler of Galena. Ebr. Martin, engraver, Cincinnati." Covers southwestern Wisconsin and Illinois, bounded by the Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Rock Rivers. Provides descriptive information about Jo Daviess County and the city of Galena. Includes statistics about the amount of lead manufactured from 1825-1829. Includes population information for the city of Galena, 1825-1828, including the number of women and free blacks. Includes legend that shows symbols for furnaces, smelting establishments, discoveries of mineral or lead ore, roads, copper, and the "East line of the purchase lately made at Prairie du Chien." Scale 1:111,513.
