Summary
Unbound collection of Italian madrigal part-books by various composers from the second half of the 16th century. Most items, written primarily for five voices, contain only one or two of the parts, and may or may not include t.p., tables of content, or headlines or running feet by which to identify the work. Although most of the compositions are madrigals in Italian, there are two Missae in Latin: one by Orfeo Vecchi, the other by Palestrina. Other composers represented include Orazio Vecchi, Vinci, Bati, Bellasio, Bicci, Marenzio, Monte, Scaletta, Manielli, Bertei, Costa, Striggio, Verdelot, Nasco, Manenti, ore, Floriani, Wert, and Animuccia. There is also a folder containing [100] p. of miscellaneous unidentified pieces of sacred vocal music for various vocal parts.
