Summary Copy by Mr. S.M. Sener of Lancaster, Pennsylvania from 1899 of a Shawnee-English vocabulary list compiled by Judge Jasper Yeates while serving as Commissioner at the Fort Pitt (Pa.) Indian treaty negotiations in October 1776. The vocabulary contains 44 terms in English, followed by equivalents in Shawnee. Sener also includes historical background notes on the Fort Pitt negotiations, for which Judge Yeates of Lancaster and Col. John Montgomery of Carlisle served as Commissioners.
