Dear Jack + Gladys:
Just a note to say I've managed to survive some of the first year here, and some of the faculty say openly that my appointment was not the total disaster they'd expected it to be. In any case I'm enjoying life here, especially so since summer has come + I'm usually loafing in my swimming pool by 5 P.M. That's a far cry from Lehman, CUNY, where I was usually just beginning the most productive part of my day's work by 5 P.M. — Best, Jim Light
