User-Contributed Transcription But whether I can pull it together, I don't know. It's hard to summon the enthusiasm, + a string of books that have failed - though all lack of quality - seems to have set up hurdles internally that are hard to jump.
Also trying to finish a play (or script for a movie or TV, more likely) based on my Gorky book - The Last Play of Maxim Gorky. No idea where I'll go with it, but I think it's valid. I'm afraid you'd find it too disillusioned - although I know how tolerant you are toward all views.
I'm applying for a Chapelbrook grant. Hope it's OK, to use your name among references, if they want them. If I got it, I could extend my leave or else take another leave in 71, and see what I really can produce in an extended stretch.
