Summary Twenty-eight letters addressed to court and government officials in Paris from the Parlement de Bordeaux, dated in Bordeaux between June 17, 1649 and March 21, 1651 (with one from March 5, 1668), and most of which are signed by Arnaud de Pontac, president of the Parlement, on behalf of the deputies. Several of the letters are addressed to the queen regent, Anne of Austria, widow of Louis XIII: the one dated March 5, 1650 acclaims the peace negotiations of Rueil, and seeks the queen's continued support for their "compagnie"; parliamentary decrees of July 9 and July 28, 1650 prohibit Spanish ships from entering the port of Bordeaux, and refuse Cardinal Mazarin, the queen's first minister, or any royal troops, entry into the city. Several letters express support of the Bordeaux Parlement for the people of the Guienne province against their governor, the duc d'Epernon, others discuss the presence of Louis II de Bourbon, prince de Condé, and Gaston, duc d'Orléans, brothers of Louis XIII.  Also included are letters addressing concerns to Thibaud de Lavie, avocat-general in Paris; the duc de la Vrillière, secretary of state; Pierre Séguier, chancellor of France; and various conseillers, including Jean de Monjon, Jacques de Guyonnet, Jean de Gourgues, Jean Luc de Mirat, and Pierre de Voisin.
