The Dec. 23, 1822, letter to Abbott, then in St. Louis, advises on the prices and desirability of various skins and on shipping them from New Orleans. The Aug. 30, 1834, letter to Pratte, Chouteau and Company also includes a separate letter of the same date to Pierre Chouteau and a copy of a previous letter (Aug. 23) to him.
