Summary Undated note to James Constantine Pilling, an American ethnologist, from E. A. S.  Enclosed is a Nov. 18, 1883, letter from "Guicharel," a Sulpician, at San Carlos (presumably San Carlos Indian Reservation), Arizona Territory, to "Zach," regarding the difficulties involved in claiming and returning American and Mexican children held captive by the Apaches. A photograph of the child captive Charley McComas, originally sent with the 1883 letter, is lacking.
