Summary April 6, 1782, letter from Thomas Brown to Lord George Germain, British secretary of state for the colonies, reporting on the situation of allied Creeks, Cherokees, and other southern tribes. Brown notes that Indians are employed against the Spanish in West Florida and the rebels on the frontiers, that the Creeks remain loyal, and that the Cherokees are "warmly engaged."  Problems, including inter-tribal animosities and disrupted distribution of ammunition and supplies, are mentioned.  Brown also informs Germain of the distribution of presents and his withdrawal of funds.  Enclosures listed in the letter are lacking. 
Biographical/Historical Note Revolutionary War loyalist officer and British superintendent-general of Indian affairs in the southern districts of North America during the latter years of the conflict.
