December 6, 1755, note from Lieut. Thomas Stinson certifying that officers in Capt. Ingersell's (i.e. Joseph Ingersoll) company of Col. Whitcomb's (i.e. John Whitcomb) regiment of Massachusetts militia had each received two meals from Robert Henry. Ingersoll's company, which had participated in the Crown Point Expedition under William Johnson, was probably returning home to Cape Cod after it was determined in a Nov. 20 council that the majority of the Crown Point force was to be discharged.
