This is the last night I shall ever be fifteen, tomorrow I shall be sixteen & when once a person is sixteen, though they are still very young, they can never be called 'child'. - Oh Papa, were you but here! I am still sick & miserable, & shall have but a dreary birthday, I'm not even well enough to invite a friend to dinner. I have been sick so long, I almost wonder if I shall ever be well, we shall finally leave for Florida next week. I have grown old the last year. I feel it though the idea may be exagerated, but my feeling so blue to night perhaps I had better stop writing, for it is nearly mid-night.
