Description
Married to a jazz musician when she arrived in Chicago, had a child together, trying to make ends meet and find babysitters for when they both needed to work nights. Tells about his son around 6, bringing him to a performance because she couldn’t find a babysitter. Her son was in awe of her voice.
Atmosphere of Mister Kelly’s: sound system and stage were superb for jazz.
Talks about doing a show in Montreal and how she spoke and sang in French, only to find out that she had insulted them by speaking French French instead of Canadian French.
