Summary An estimate prepared by Samuel Andrew, June 8, 1696, of the prison and court expenses of Middlesex County for the coming year. Included are unpaid grand jury expenses for 1695 as well as a reimbursement to the former prison keeper "for keeping some Indians."

Biographical/Historical Note Samuel Andrew, Middlesex County, Mass., treasurer, 1683-1700, was in early life a well-known ship master. He also held numerous Cambridge town offices: constable, 1666; selectman, 1681-1693; town clerk, 1682-1693; and treasurer, 1694-1699.
