User-Contributed Transcription 230 La Salle Avenue Chicago Ill.Dear Father and Mother and brothers and sister.Work begun Monday morn. The walk to the kindergarten is twice as long or more than I imagined, yet a comfortable walk. Besides the half dozen blocks north of here to Elm Street, it is eight or ten west, beyond Larabee - nearly to the River. It is in one of the worst regions of the city. There were twenty children Monday and thirty for today (Tuesday). The head-director is Miss Lily Wadsworth. She gives us a talk (the three assistants) after the room is righted, so we all have to bring luncheon. Then I walk to the College - two miles- the rest take a car but it's only a goodly walk and I get there before they do, tho' I stop at 230 and get my mail. Wasn't I glad of Father's and Mother's letters this afternoon! Lectures at the College are from 2.30 to 4.30. Then I walk up home in half an hour or forty minutes. About four miles walk a day ought to just be good for me. But it will be only four days of the week. I've got to buy some books and some materials before next Tuesday. Have no
