I never heard her express herself more firmly, and when I repeated the verse "tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me - she replied before I could finish, "I feel so" all was calm and peaceful with her - it was a terrible night abroad - the rain pouring in torrents with heavy wind and thundering and lightening incessantly = and I suppose owing to the state of my nervous system, having been broken of my rest and not being very well, that it affected me more I am sure that scene will never be forgotten while memory lasts a but lifes conflicts for her are over, and I pray God that when my time comes my work may be found as well done as was here and in the short space of five days more, we were again called to mourn, and this time it was not one ripe for the grave, but a beautiful bud just bursting into bloom - dear little Willy, how sweetly he looked, when arrayed for his coffin, just as if he was asleep - and yet another has gone but this time not one of our household band - Mrs Frances Given sister of Mr Lyfords - she came down from Mt Anthony on Saturday, felt some unwell Sunday and Monday - Tuesday Mrs Norris went over and gave her an emetic, on Thursday they sent for me - Im afraid I was selfish but Mother and Emily left on Monday and I was so absorbed in my own thoughts and work that I had not called upon her I did not know however that she was so sick - I found her very nervous from want of sleep, having slept none since Tuesday night soon after I arrived she was taken with spasms, which continued while her strength lasted the Dr was called and arrived some after I did, he seemed to think lightly of her case - left a few powders saying they would soon calm her - but the medicine seemed to have
