User-Contributed Transcription of trading some land I bought last season for a farm near Cottage Grove. 18 miles from here. Should I buy the farm and find no other business I may turn farmer in May, the farm I speak of contains 200 acres, 100 of which is good timber, a very important item here, and has 25 acres under cultivation, buildings, a log house and various sheds, now should I turn farmer I should want Percie to help me, so you will not be surprised should you see me at Elyria after him in the Spring, and that is not improbable, and how much joy the thought of having him with me would give me, were it not for the pain I know it must give you to part with him, and O how glad would I be could you ever be with him and with me, and could I in any way see it to be my duty I would most gladly make my home near you in Ohio, Perhaps I may do so some time, but I cannot now see how, If I am not deceived I am not desirous of obtaining great riches, but I do feel a very strong desire to be free from embarrassment, and as fast as I can, without a sacrifice of health and happiness, I shall labor for that end, and if I am prospered a few years I hope to attain it. I have another change in view, of which I shall know more definitely in a few weeks, and of which
