User-Contributed Transcription Samuel BangorJuly 31 1856DunbartonBangor July 31st 1856Brother IsaacLast night Lucy had a hard cough almost the whole night. to day she is much easier and we feel more hopeful about her. her vomiting which has continued untill within a day or two has ceased and what food she has eaten yesterday and to day we hope has done her good. We have been disappointed so many times thinking that she was better that we hardly dare feel much encouraged to night but we will be thankful that she is more comfortable. Mr Rider and Almeida went home yesterday without any hope of his recovery and a probability that he may very suddenly be taken away by the cancer eating at the artery. I do not know that such a termination could be regretted.Love to NettieS.W. Furber
