User-Contributed Transcription Sabbath. Sam'l Furber was here at meeting. He is at work in Hampden, he said. Why don't you write me a letter every few days. If you are not hurried in your business as you intimated. No matter if you haven't any thing to write. Make up something. I am going to write to Isaac about the first of July. You was a good brother to send me his letter. Send all the letters you get from home too. If I get any, I'll send 'em to you. My Mrs. Wiley is pretty clever I guess, but she is young and inexperienced. She'll lick her baby for crying & when if he feels bad about it she'll kiss him & say she never'll strike him again in the world. How some folks do train up children.Mr. Wiley is a queer man as ever you saw. Some like your self, though. Always changing words every single time he speaks, like your "[??]" Thick thunderous talk." He can't speak without making folks laugh. There is another odd fellow here vis. Sam Bodge, son of drunken Bodge of Bangor. Some like his father regarding wit I guess, but of strictly temperate habit. Love to Eliab. Wite write write whenever you can & tell him to do the same. I suppose you are both pretty much engaged most
