User-Contributed Transcription Hampden Apr. 16th 1850.Albina & Lissie come in to the docket today. Sam'l is appointed to survey at the Mill, and Walter Brown says he "shall have him" survey up there, so I suppose he will. My fingers are cold - in the dining room devoid of fire. I did not go to sewing circle yester. but will thank Miss Moore vigorously when I do go. She gave the mark to me requesting me to send it. Libe had nothing to do with it. My teeth were all finished Monday - eight cavities - mostly very large filled, two teeth & roots extracted, tartar removed, for $8.25 - not bad charge, was it? Sam'l is going to have his done next week. Lissie spent the afternoon & night here last Wednesday. Pa Crosby last evening. Mr. Mason's health very poor - heart disease & scrofulaJ.M. Metcalf I send you Hulls Laurie $1.50. Physical Theory of a future life $.75. There were at last advices nine barrells of flour unsold at Milo. I will send an exposition of the affair so soon as I rec the balance of sales from Milo which I expect in a few days. I am spending some time every day at Brewer looking after the Senator. think it better to know what is done than to beat down on settlement. The Brandywine Capt. Jelevson is somewhere on her passage from Frankfort to Bangor. it is somewhat provoking that she is a week getting from Frankfort when others have gone out bonded. Did not advise Cutts to break his contract.
