User-Contributed Transcription Dear Brother Mr. Dorr goeth to Bangor& I will send a bit of note by him. I forget to take of you another ,25 wherewith to get my dress cut, & having a good opportunity Sat. afternoon, I let it not slip, but borrowed a quarter of Mrs. Dorr. I don't want to bother you, but girls must have clothes, not to mention notions, you know. When my school's done, I will repay this. So I want one of you to hand Mr. Dorr a quarter, to pay, if you will. He is going to get Lobster, Coconut, Halibut etc.etc. That's good, for us while he is gone to Milo. I want to enforce it upon you to write more to Mother, and more particularly. She is'nt very well, & anything that seem approaching to neglect troubles her , - & would any old person - very much. We all know how anxious she is for her children, & interested in them, & we ought to show her that we feel it. I perceive more & more every day, as I get acquainted with other people, in my intercourse with the world that our Mother is not like all Mothers. I suppose Mother had not in early life, very great advantages as regards Education, or opportunities to acquire polish of manners, but she has, unquestionably, what is far better, native talent, & true native
