User-Contributed Transcription Bangor Feb. 25. 1856.Very dear brother Isaac Most glad and thankful were we to hear, by your letter, of your safe arrival at Dunbarton. We have felt unusually anxious about you on this journey, since the dreadful night at Albany. I want to see you, to know how you look after it. I think it is a great wonder that Mother was not entirely prostrated and unable to go on the next day. How wonderful in goodness to us is our Heavenly Father, & how thoughtless & unthankful we are in vain of all his mercies - what poor returns our hearts make him. I imagine that each bookseller in Bangor had one copy of "Home." Eliab succeeded in getting one, which we have all read. Duren sent a copy to the store for Sam'l the same might he get your letter[left-hand side and top] Carpenter of Portland lectured here last week - amazingly flat. Burritt comes this week. The lectures have not amounted to anything hardly - only two of them good ones - J. G. Saxe a perfect failure. Mr. Storrs & Bethune good, as I presume will be Mr. J. P. Thompson's. Please write soon. Much love to all- There is a kiss in here somewhere for Mayo & the babies. Percie smacked the papers. I think Mayo's catechism[upside down at bottom of letter] Lucy Feb. 25 1856
