Nov 22, 1853Du Quoin Dec 3-1853Bangor Nov. 22 - 1853Very dear brother & sisterAnother good letter from you jointly, arrived yesterday, making the second since I have written, though I sent one but a few days since, the very day, I think before receiving your first. In that you mention not having received any letters from Bangor for six weeks, & not knowing whether Mother was in Bangor or not. I cannot understand it - some letters must have been lost - I wrote immediately after Mother arrived here from Mass. and again as soon as she left here for Milo, stating those facts. Then I have certainly written as many as two letters since. Mr. Crosby & folks have not had letters from William for five or six weeks. Oh, how much they want him with them now! They are heavily smitten - Dear Margaret, the loving and the loved, has gone. She died day before
